Leadership in health, safety, security, environment and quality (HSSEQ) practices is a core value that drives our business and sustainability tops our management agenda. In an age when environmentally motivated regulations are becoming the most important cost-driver of our industry, we undertake a proactive approach to managing HSSEQ awareness, education and enforcement across our diverse global operations. Our policy of aiming for the highest achievable HSSEQ standards anchors our strategy for sustainable growth. We aim for continuous improvement in baseline work and environmental performance, steps that are critical to validating our sustainability credentials. We believe that a culture that ensures zero injuries and a clean environment is essential to create value for customers, employees, shareholders and other stakeholders.
FOS incorporates robust and integrated management systems tailored to the requirements of our operations in diverse geographical locations and business environments. Our strategy is to stay ahead of the curve by constantly investing in clean technology and effective employee training programmes to deliver long-term performance improvements.
In April 2018, we received accreditation by Bureau Veritas to the Quality Management Standard ISO 9001:2015, the Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001:2015 and the Occupational Health and Safety Management Standard OHSAS 45001:2015, which demonstrate FOS’s continued commitment to providing the highest levels of quality and services. All our vessels operate in line with International Safety Management (ISM) codes as well as those set by the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) . We use operational efficiency as a baseline to proactively identify opportunities that add value and service excellence, and seek to create value chain partnerships in the international maritime service industry.
Our people are our most valuable assets. We nurture FOS’s guiding belief that employee well-being is critical to retaining top talent. We also recognise that our global reach brings diversity. As a major employer and contributor to the communities in which we operate, it is important to us that we attract local talent that work with us to build a sustainable future. Our success is enhanced by the diversity of our people, who benefit from our equal opportunities policies. We take pride in the rich and diverse mix of backgrounds, beliefs, cultures, skills and knowledge that come together to embellish our business success and performance.
FOS takes great pride in being a responsible corporate citizen and positively influencing the communities in which we operate. We create shared values for communities in our host countries through employing locally, developing in-country supply-chains and supporting the long-term community development.
The long-term success and growth of FOS relies upon our continued ability to improve the quality of services and products we deliver, whilst fulfilling effective duties of care to operational safety, human health and environmental well-being. This includes our commitment to environmental performance and prevention of pollution, including targeting “Zero Spills” in all operations.
